We’ve produced ‘The Lanterns at Chester Zoo’ for the last three years now, bringing families together from all over the north west for dazzling spectacle of light and performance and we’re set to return once again this November.
Over Christmas 2019 over 90,000 visited the Lanterns at Chester Zoo, travelling through nine different enchanted lands created by Wild Rumpus. Working with a raft of incredible performers and makers, we produced illuminated worlds including the Garden of Delight, Northern Lights, Cloud Cuckoo Land and Ice Kingdom. Interactive lit puppets including emus, penguins, reindeer, butterflies and snails enchanted the audience on evening trail for 18 nights.
In 2020, some illuminated animals returned such as Ocho the Octopus, giraffes, elephants and zebras, but this time we debuted our giant inflatable plantery installation, introduced some stunning consetellations lanterns and puppets in Second Star To The Right and met some colourful chameleons in the Cactus Desert.
