On the 5th and 6th July, York’s Homestead Park will transform into a free two-day festival. We are hosting an event in partnership with the Joseph Rowntree Foundation in line with their mission ‘to support and speed up the transition to a more equitable and just future, free from poverty, where people and planet can flourish’.
Homestead Park Festival will serve as a vibrant portal into alternative futures – a unique gathering for York’s community to engage in workshops, music, theatre and discussions that empower positive change during this pivotal moment we find ourselves in. We are seeking passionate volunteers to help bring this vision to life.
Volunteer with Us
We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to support the festival in a wide variety of exciting and meaningful roles.
Whether you are interested in arts, nature, social justice, theatre, music – there is a role for you. We are not looking for specific skills, just a love of people and planet, as well as a passion for community events.
Volunteer roles include:
- Supporting our sustainability and recycling schemes
- Assisting and liaising with artists, speakers, and musicians
- Providing programme and event information to our audience
- Helping workshop facilitators
- Supporting event stewards in keeping the site safe and welcoming
- Assisting our access teams
No previous experience needed. All training will be provided the day before the event in person. You will receive £5 towards expenses for each 5-hour shift worked, if you work both shifts in one day you’ll receive a one-hour lunch break as well.
